Ipazia, Observatory on Gender Research

Ipazia has the aim of building a comprehensive and continuously updated framework of research, services, projects, and initiatives related to women that define the feminine condition at local, national and international level.

To achieve this objective, the observatory is willing to implement gender studies by organizing and promoting initiatives of scientific relevance (workshops, seminars, conferences, studies, scientific laboratories). 

Ipazia has three souls, which are represented by the three colored petals of the flower of its logo. 

The first one is devoted to research, both academic and practical, on gender-related topics. 

More in details, sub-themes have been identified to set up the work of subgroups interconnected to the general group. Specifically, the sub-groups are be made up of international participants and network activators for the thematic sub-tracks, which may be related, but not limited, to:

• female entrepreneurship;
• corporate governance;
• communication of non-financial information related to gender issues;
• presence of women in universities, in academia, and business;
• gender, sustainability, and corporate social responsibility;
• relational capital of women in private as well as public organizations (included universities).

The annual workshop and the International Conference on Gender Research (ICGR) are the expressions of the activities of the observatory, by merging the entrepreneurial as well as the scientific souls.

The second aim is about disseminating knowledge through lessons, classes, seminars, and workshops within bachelor, master, and Ph.D. courses, or devoted to private and public entities. Thesis on the topic by Ph.D. candidates and bachelor and master students are also highly encouraged. 

The third mission aims to promote direct application, enhancement, and use of knowledge to contribute to the social, cultural and economic development. To do so, Ipazia provides profit and no-profit organizations with scientific-oriented mentoring and consulting activities related to gender equality, empowerment, and wellbeing.

Ipazia aims to be an international entity, which organizes events and has members and followers everywhere in the world.
